Plymouth and West Devon Record Office is one of the five collections that will be brought together as one complex, in association with Plymouth University. The project has received much support from the local Heritage Consortium.
Maureen Selley, Chairman of the Devon Family History Society and one of the founders of the Heritage Consortium, said: "I am buzzing! Really buzzing! This work has taken place over many years by many people and we are thrilled it has at last been successful."
This exciting project involves refurbishing and extending the Museum and Central Library buildings on North Hill as well as renovating the former St Luke’s Church in Tavistock Place. The planned opening date is by Spring 2019.
